Magnetic Field Sensors
5 Hz to 1 MHz
These  passive magnetic field sensors provide an output AC voltage accurately calibrated to the AC magnetic field strength. The frequency of the AC output voltage is the same as the frequency of the magnetic field. Each sensor below undergoes a NIST traceable calibration for accuracy. These sensors offer a convenient, low-cost troubleshooting tool. For more information click on a sensor model in the table below.

These sensors are single-axis, so they respond to fields parallel to the sensor axis. The sensor orientation shows the magnetic field polarization. No battery or power supply is needed for the sensors. These sensors require a display instrument  (not included) such as AC voltmeter, oscilloscope or spectrum analyzer to display  the output AC voltage. These sensors  have no minimum measurable field strength, so the sensitivity will depend on your display instrument. Maximum field: the sensor can be damaged above 50 Volts output. Sensor includes operating instructions.

Frequency Range:
The table above shows the frequencies over which the sensor output voltage is at least 70% of the magnetic field strength in Gauss (Volts/Gauss > 0.7). Sensors can be used below this frequency range but will have lower output voltage. See sensor curves by clicking on the Sensor Model.

Calibration:
Each individual sensor is tested to ensure NIST traceable accuracy. For some models our calibration data is also recorded (as shown in the above table) and the recorded data table is shipped with the sensor.  Our calibrations are done with a high impedance voltmeter, for more information  click here.

Case Styles (pictured at top of page):
A is rectangular, 2.06"x1.58"x1.16"  (52mmx40mmx29mm) and has a BNC(f) output
connector on the case. (Coax cables are available for $15). Typical weight  is 3.3 oz (95 g).
B is cylindrical,  4.3"x1.25" (109mm x 32mm) and the output connector is BNC(m) at the end
of an attached 44" coax cable. Typical weight is 6.14 oz  (174 g).
C is the smallest: it is rectangular 1"x1"x0.8" and has a BNC(f) output connector on the case.
( coax cables are available for $15). Typical weight for these is 1 oz (30 g).
AW is same as Case Style A but  no connector. Instead there are 3 insulated wires about 8-inches long
which provide differential output and green center tap.  Weight same as Case A.
